    Celtic after Pope - reports
CELTIC have been linked with a move for Charlton goalkeeper Nick Pope - but the Hoops could face competition from Leeds, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Hull and Burnley. The 24-year-old - who started his career with Ipswich and has had spells at Bury, Harrow, Cambridge and York City. The Addicks suffered relegation from the Championship but Pope’s performances caught the eye regardless.

    Brendan Rodgers’ £10m Celtic decision
Brendan Rodgers will have to turn his back on a £10m fortune if he’s to accept the job of leading Celtic’s push for six-in-a-row. The former Liverpool boss met with the Parkhead club’s majority shareholder Dermot Desmond in Ireland yesterday and was immediately presented as the No.1 candidate to become Ronny Deila’s replacement. Rodgers stands to pocket almost £5m a year over the next two years as per the terms of his severance deal at Anfield. Celtic have also held talks with Malky Mackay.
    (Record)

Celtic great ‘has had enough of Carlton Cole and Kazim-Richards’
Charlie Nicholas has criticised Celtic strikers Carlton Cole and Colin Kazim-Richards, saying they bring nothing to the club.

Celtic to unveil Brendan Rodgers by Tuesday
Celtic will parade Brendan Rodgers as manager by Tuesday at the latest with the former Liverpool manager to be given ÂŁ15m to spend in his first season in charge as he looks to rebuild the Parkhead side for Europe and fend off a returning Rangers.

    - Luis Suarez, who worked under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, says Celtic would be appointing one of the best managers in Europe
    - Dermot Desmond says whoever is appointed the new manager of Celtic must take the club back into the group stages of the Champions League after a three year absence
    - Brendan Rodgers would “cherish” the Celtic manager’s job and deliver the kind of attack-minded system that would bring supporters flocking back to Paradise according to his cousin Nigel Worthington

Mark Warburton would love head-to-head with Brendan Rodgers
Mark Warburton would embrace the opportunity to face off against Brendan Rodgers with the Rangers manager maintaining that rivals Celtic would be doing his club and all others in the country a service should they land his former colleague.

Newly-appointed manager Brendan Rodgers will earn ÂŁ2.25m a year at Celtic and is considering a move for former Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard. (Sun)

Rodgers will be paid ÂŁ45,000 a week at Celtic, who had to pay ÂŁ3m to buy the Northern Irishman out of his gardening leave at Liverpool. (Daily Record)

Emilio Izaguirre insists he has not played his last game for Celtic, despite saying farewells to the club's fans after last week's season-ending win over Motherwell. (Daily Record, print edition)

Also Gerrard erscheint mir schon sehr weit hergeholt und insofern typisch Sun!

Brendan Rodgers earns bumper deal at Celtic but transfer budget to scupper Liverpool move
Rodgers will officially be unveiled at Celtic Park tomorrow after agreeing a 12-month rolling deal to replace Ronny Deila. The former Swansea and Liverpool manager is also understood to have been handed a £15million war chest to bring new players to the club. That is a drop in the ocean compared to what he had to spend at Liverpool but the Northern Irishman already has a list of players he would like. Hull’s Scottish international Robert Snodgrass is one player that he would like to sign even if the Tigers are promoted to the Premier League. But he might have trouble reaching terms with Liverpool to sign Joe Allen - a player that he took to Anfield from Swansea for £15m.

    Rodgers eye Gerrard swoop
BRENDAN Rodgers is reportedly eyeing an audacious bid to bring Steven Gerrard to Celtic as player-assistant manager. The former Liverpool boss was unveiled as Celtic boss on a 12-month rolling contract last week, while Gerrard is currently attached to LA Galaxy in MLS. However, Gerrard could be tempted by the prospect of a coaching role under his old boss.
    (The Sun)

    Davies set to join Celtic
MEANWHILE, Brendan Rodgers is set to bring coach Chris Davies to Celtic as he looks to shape his squad and backroom staff as soon as possible. Davies is currently first team coach at Reading, but worked with the Northern Irishman at Swansea and then at Liverpool. Stevie Wood and John Kennedy are expected to stay on at Celtic despite the departures of Ronny Deila and John Collins.
    (Sunday Mail)

    Ambrose wanted by Turkish giants
CELTIC defender Efe Ambrose has emerged as a target for Turkish Super Lig outfit Fenerbahce. It is widely expected that Brendan Rodgers will look to trim his squad and Ambrose could be one of the first to leave Parkhead, despite having 12 months left on his contract. Stefan Johansen, Emilio Izaguirre, Nadir Ciftci and Stefan Scepovic are also expected to leave, with Johansen reportedly keen on a switch to Germany.

EMILIO Izaguirre appears to have turned his back on a move to the USA and has vowed to fight for his place under Brendan Rodgers,
The Honduran international looked set to join Toronto, but said: “In Celtic’s last two games, I played 90 minutes in one and came on as a sub in the other.
“I have no problem with that - I am a Celtic player and I have two years left on my contract. No one has told me anything else and there have been no offers from the MLS.”

FULHAM youngster Emerson Hyndman hasn’t ruled out a move to Celtic this summer as he looks set to depart Craven Cottage.
The US international, who is being courted by the likes of Spurs, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, said: “You take a bigger club and possibly not play as much, maybe go on loan or you can settle for a good solid club, maybe not fighting for the same things but you’ll get more chances along the way.
“I feel like I need to make the best decision for me, personally and that’s going to take a little bit of time.”
Hyndman is also reportedly a target for Manchester United and West Ham.

    Rodgers keen on Graham
BRENDAN Rodgers is ready to swoop for Sunderland striker Danny Graham as he looks to bolster the Celtic strikeforce. Graham, who has had spells with Carlisle, Watford and Swansea, is a free agent this summer and was linked with both Celtic and Rangers earlier this month but looks set to team up again with Rodgers. Graham told the Daily Mail: “[Brendan] is probably the single biggest influence in my life, probably behind my parents I’d say. “He’s certainly influenced my work in terms of professionalism and detail and becoming meticulous, and just generally with work ethic.”
    (Daily Mail)

Arsenal hope to land Rogic for ÂŁ7m
ARSENAL haven’t given up hope of landing Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic and could offer the Parkhead side £7 million for the Australian international. Rogic was a star performer for the Hoops last season, scoring a number of key goals, and could be tempted by a move south. Still only 23, the Australian star has scored four goals in 15 international appearances. Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Kieran Tierney. (Various)

    Mulgrew wanted by Rodgers
CHARLIE Mulgrew has been given hope of a new deal at Celtic, with new boss Brendan Rodgers calling in the utility man for contract talks. Mulgrew looked set to exit Parkhead just a few weeks ago, and was linked with Blackburn Rovers and Bournemouth. But the Scotland international could extend his stay in Glasgow following the arrival of Rodgers.
