NEIL LENNON'S plans for next season have been dealt a huge blow as a deal to sign Polish defender Jaroslaw Fojut was cancelled due to injury.
Fojut sustained a serious knee injury in his final game for Slask Wroclaw – a repeat of the cruciate damage he suffered while playing for Bolton in the Premiership.
Fojut, 24, meet Celtic doctor Roddy MacDonald last week when the injury was confirmed.
The SPL champs have now pulled the plug on the pre-contract agreement he signed in January.
It is a major set-back for gaffer Lennon who is desperate to strengthen his central defence with Glenn Loovens and Daniel Majstorovic set to move on.
Lennon said: “It looks like Jaroslaw has done his cruciate and that deal is off now. He was in London on Tuesday with our doctor Roddy to see a specialist.
“When you sign a player on a pre-contract there is always that option to break it. It’s a huge blow for him – and for us. We really liked the cut of him.
“We need a team for the Champions League qualifiers and it could take longer than six months for him to recover.
“It would be a gamble so we’ll have to look elsewhere. Dan and Glenn are both out of contract so we may have to go shopping for two more central defenders.
“We’ve already made inroads. We put a bid in for a player last week and are waiting to see how that’s progressing.
“I’ve a list of players. I’m under no illusions I might have to sell a player to balance the books.”
Lennon is adamant Kelvin Wilson isn’t on the way out despite Leicester being linked with a £3million bid for the player.
The gaffer said: “There’s been nothing between the clubs.
“Kelvin had a pretty good season and we are short of players in his position. We wouldn’t be in a rush to do anything there.

Denke einer der Mittelfeldspieler muss gehen. Ki, Forrest, Kayal. Angebote werden bestimmt vorhanden sein. Wir mĂĽssen weiter ausmisten. Cha, Wilson, Loovens werden wohl gehen. Wenn jem,and 3 Mille fĂĽr Wilson ausgeben will, dann sofort weg. Der ist viel zu inkonstant und ist einfach immer fĂĽr einen Fehler gut. McCourt wird wohl auch gehen. Nach so einem Jahr kann ich mir nicht vorstellen, dass er uns erhalten bleibt. Wir werden sehen,

Schade fĂĽr Fojut, aber am Ende wahrscheinlich das Beste, dauerverletzte Innenverteidiger haben wir in den letzten Jahren ja nun wirklich genug gehabt.

3 Mille für Kelvin Wilson wären wahrlich ein Geschenk des Himmels, bei allem über einer Million würde ich mit Freuden ja sagen! Loovens sollte auch gehen, Majo sowieso und Cha ebenfalls, bei Mark Wilson ist die Sache ja leider auch schon entschieden. Rechts hätten wir dann für die neue Saison Lustig und Matthews, das passt! Links könnte man für Izaguirre noch einen backup holen, damit Mulgrew sich ganz auf die IV konzentrieren kann, der ablösefreie Dixon wäre da nicht die schlechteste Variante mMn. Blieben für innen dann Mulgrew, Rogne und Wanyama, also zwei Leute bräuchte man da mindestens. Für ne backup Rolle wären ja auch Toshney oder O'Dea ne Möglichkeit, für den wir ne Option hätten, dazu hat auch Fraser schon gezeigt, dass er durchaus eine Verstärkung sein kann, aber einen starken Mann mit Erfahrung sollten wir schon holen.

Majstorovic joins Swedish side, AIK

DANIEL Majstorovic has agreed to join Swedish side, AIK. The Swedish defender, whose contract has ended at Celtic, is heading home to join the Stockholm club on a deal until 2014.
The player, who is currently on the road back to recovery from the cruciate ligament injury he suffered while training with the Swedish national side, joined Celtic in 2010 from Greek side AEK Athens.
In his first season with the club he helped Celtic win the Scottish Cup, with a 3-0 victory in the final over Motherwell. And though this season has been an injury-hit one for the player, he still made 15 league appearances as Neil Lennon´s side secured the SPL title.
In total, Daniel made 64 appearances for the Hoops, scoring two goals. Everyone at Celtic thanks Daniel for his contribution to the club and our success over these past two seasons, and wishes him well on his continued road to recovery and his future career with AIK.

Four more Bhoys exit Paradise

CELTIC can confirm that the following four players have now left the club – Dominic Cervi, Darren O´Dea, Niall McGinn and Richie Towell.
Cervi, a former USA Under-23 internationalist, joined the club in the summer of 2009. Although the towering goalkeeper played in a number of friendlies for the Hoops, and was on bench on several occasions, he failed to make a competitive first team appearance. During the last campaign, he spent a period on loan at Morton.
Currently starring for Ireland at Euro 2012, O´Dea progressed through the ranks at Celtic to become an important member of the first team squad, helping the club to several domestic honours. The defender played 70 games for the club, captaining the team on a number of occasions. Among his highlights as a Bhoy, was a goal in the 2-0 League Cup final win over Rangers in 2009.
McGinn moved to Paradise from Derry City in January 2009, after his performances in his homeland had attracted interest from clubs in England and elsewhere. He made his Celtic debut later that year against Dundee United and went on to make 36 appearances, scoring six goals. The Northern Ireland internationalist spent last season on loan at Brentford City.
Fellow Irishman, Towell, was a product of the Celtic Youth Academy and earned his top-team bow in November 2010 in a 2-2 draw with Inverness Caley Thistle. Capped at youth level for his country, the versatile youngster spent last term on loan at Hibs in order to gain regular first team football.
Everyone at Celtic would like to thank all four players for their contribution over the years and they leave with the club´s best wishes.
