Adam Brooks seals dramatic late victory for Celtic B
The Celtic B team picked up three points on the road with a 4-3 win over Gala Fairydean Rovers in Galashiels. Despite being behind for the majority of the game, the young Hoops continued to fight right up until the 89th minute when Adam Brooks scored the winner, and his second of the game.

Young Celts deliver UEFA Youth League win in Germany
An impressive display from the young Celts in Leipzig today (Wednesday) delivered their first three points from their UEFA Youth League matches as the side, overseen by Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea, kept control of the bulk of the action against their RB counterparts.

In der Liga gab es letztes Wochenende noch einen (wohl eher glücklichen) 1-0 Sieg bei den Tranent Juniors (Highlights hier, einen offiziellen Spielbericht habe ich nicht finden können), in der Youth League dagegen im Rückspiel gegen Leipzig eine Heimniederlage.


Young Celts lose out in UEFA Youth League home tie
Following last Wednesday’s 2-1 win over their RB Leipzig counterparts in Germany thanks to goals from Rocco Vata and Tsoanelo Letsosa, the young Celts found the going harder in the return match today at Airdrie, and it got even tougher when Mackenzie Carse was given his second yellow as the first half closed. Goals from Simon Schierack and Ohene Köhl in the first half put the visitors in the driving seat and, mainly thank to the dynamic efforts of Toby Oluwayemi in goal during a tough second period for the 10-man home side, the score was kept at 2-0.

Die letzten beiden Spiele in der Youth League gegen Donetsk und Madrid gingen am Ende auch verloren, damit sind unsere Young Bhoys auch hier Gruppenletzter geworden. Dazwischen gab es in der Lowland League immerhin einen 4-2 Sieg gegen die Cumbernauld Colts (leider mal wieder kein Bericht/keine Highlights) wo man allerdings bisher auch eher im Mittelfeld der Tabelle zu finden ist, wenn auch mit ein paar absolvierten Spielen weniger als der Rest.


- Euro disappointment for young Celts as they lose out to Shakhtar Donetsk
Celtic’s penultimate game in this season’s UEFA Youth League ended in defeat as Shakhtar Donetsk left Airdrie with a 1-0 victory. A second-half strike from Vladyslav Pohorilyi earned the Ukrainian side all three points, a result that ultimately ends the young Hoops chances of qualifying for the next round.

- Young Celts secure convincing victory against Open Goal Broomhill
It was goals galore at the Excelsior Stadium yesterday, as Celtic FC B Team knocked six past Open Goal Broomhill in a convincing 6-2 victory. The much-anticipated Lowland League clash saw the young Hoops add another three points to the league table, off the back of a tough midweek away match in Europe. Rocco Vata set the tone for the afternoon with the opening goal after just three minutes. Open Goal Broomhill responded immediately as Martin Rennie’s headed effort got the equaliser with seven minutes on the clock. Goals from Adam Brooks and Ben Summers regained the lead and the teams headed in for half-time with the Celts leading 3-1. The Hoops game out hot in the second half, keeping up the intensity and dominating performance as Vata got his second on the 46th minute. Joey Dawson added to the scoreboard on the 80-minute mark, but the scoring didn’t stop there. With just minutes left on the clock the visitors managed to get one back, before Vata closed out the scoring for the day with a third, sealing his hat-trick.

It was a successful night all round for Celtic as the young Hoops also secured three points on the road. Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus’ side took to Falkirk to face East Stirling in the Lowland League and headed home with a 3-0 victory. First half goals from Ben Summers and Bruno Davidson gave the Bhoys the lead at the break, with the victory being solidified by a third from Rocco Vata.

So, nach dem spektakulären 6-5 Sieg der U18 über die Rangers im Youth Cup Finale letzte Woche ist heute Abend das B Team dran, im Finale des Glasgow Cups geht es ab 20 Uhr MEZ abermals gegen die Blauen.

In der Lowland League sind unsere Bhoys am Ende Tabellendritter geworden, einen Platz (und einen Punkt) hinter den Rangers (Abschlusstabelle), dafĂĽr konnten aber beide direkten Duelle in der Liga gewonnen werden und auch in der Gruppenphase des Glasgow Cup gelang ein Sieg, eigentlich also gute Vorzeichen fĂĽr einen tollen Saisonabschluss.
