Feyenoord Slap Official Contract Offer In Front of Celtic’s John Guidetti

Celtic loan star John Guidetti set to price himself out of move to Feyenoord with outrageous cash demands
GUIDETTI'S demands have been described in Holland as so ‘astronomical’ that Feyenoord have chosen to shelve the talks.

CELTIC boss Ronny Deila is considering a summer move for Argentinian striker Sergio Araujo

The Hoops had the on-loan Las Palmas frontman watched in January, and boss Ronny Deila has been impressed by reports on the 23-year-old. Araujo is still contracted to Boca Juniors, and Celtic would have to agree a deal with his Argentinian owners over a potential loan or permanent transfer, which would cost around £3million. The under-23 cap has a goal every two games ratio for Las Palmas in the Spanish second division, and has also had successful loan spells at Barcelona B and with Argentinian club Tigre. One of Deila’s priorities is to bring in a central striker, and 5ft 11in Araujo is one of the names on his list for next season’s Champions League assault.

John Guidetti’s loan deal from Manchester City is up next month and he looks unlikely to stay. That would leave Deila with just Leigh Griffiths and Stefan Scepovic, who has failed to impress since his summer switch from Sporting Gijon.

Dundee United striker Nadir Ciftci has been considered but he is valued at ÂŁ2m and there are question marks over his temperament.

Aberdeen’s 26-goal striker Adam Rooney was also being monitored but the Hoops won’t make a move for him.

Mubarak Wakaso and Aleksandar Tonev are likely to return to FC Rubin Kazan and Aston Villa respectively after disappointing loans.

Back-up keeper Lukasz Zaluska, below, is out of contract and is unlikely to be offered a new deal. Celtic have a list of back-up options, including Birmingham’s Darren Randolph and several continental-based keepers.

Dundee No 1 Scott Bain has also been watched, although he recently signed a new contract at Dens.

There will be strong interest in Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Johansen, but Deila is adamant he will keep his top assets.

CELTIC are interested in signing Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart, according to German tabloid newspaper Bild. ;D

Celtic plot summer move for Elche's Brazilian star Jonathas

The Hoops have had the 26-year-old, rated at ÂŁ2.5million, regularly watched in recent months, with boss Ronny Deila receiving several positive reports on the Brazilian, who has netted 12 goals while on loan at the Spanish top-tier outfit this season.
Deila is on the lookout for a new striker to replace the departing John Guidetti, with Boca Juniors frontman Sergio Araujo and Dundee United’s Nadir Ciftci also being considered. Deila wants to bring another striker to aid Leigh Griffiths, with Stefan Scepovic struggling to find his feet and Guidetti – on loan from Manchester City – set to exit this summer after his form tailed off. Feyenoord were keen to re-sign him but it now looks like he will be heading to Portugal to join Sporting Lisbon.

The Hoops are also keeping tabs on £2m-rated Norwegian international keeper Orjan Nyland. But Express Sport understands a move for the Molde goalie, 24, would only happen if Craig Gordon left Parkhead. A string of English Premier League clubs, including Everton, Liverpool, Southampton and Newcastle, have also been watching Nyland and he would only move to Glasgow if he was assured of the No 1 spot. Celtic have been doing their homework in case Gordon exits as they don’t want to be left short in the Champions League qualifiers.
Back-up keeper Lukasz Zaluska is out of contract this summer and has still to be told about his future, but he is likely to be moving on with Blackpool interested.

The Hoops are also considering a summer move for Heerenveen’s Nigerian centre-half Kenny Otigba. The 22-year-old, who holds a Hungarian passport to eliminate any work permit complications, has played 22 times for the Dutch club this season, helping them to a surprise sixth place in Eredivisie. Deila has had the Under-21 cap watched in case Dutch star Virgil van Dijk leaves for England.

EXCLUSIVE: Irish prize kid Gavin Whyte gets Celtic trial
CELTIC have offered a trial to Northern Ireland’s newly-crowned young player of the year Gavin Whyte. However, the Hoops face stiff competition from the English Premier League to sign the Crusaders winger. The 19-year-old, who helped Crusaders lift this season’s title, won the football writers’ vote at a ceremony on Sunday.

:top1

Celtic linked with Motherwell’s Lee Erwin
CELTIC have been linked with a summer move for Motherwell forward Lee Erwin. The Hoops are reportedly turning their attentions to home-grown talent, after the success of Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong. And now the Fir Park striker could follow them through the Parkhead entrance, with the 21-year-old catching the eye after an impressive end to the Scottish Premiership campaign. (The Sun)

Scepovic set for talks over future
STEFAN Scepovic’s agent will head to Parkhead for crunch talks over the striker’s future as the Serb’s future hangs in the balance. The £2.3m signing from Sporting Gijon has failed to make an impact in Glasgow, starting seven games and making 16 sub appearances and being overshadowed by the form of John Guidetti and Leigh Griffiths. His measly return of four goals has led to concern, with manager Ronny Deila admitting the player is still a ‘project’.
Scepovic’s agent told the Daily Mail: “If all parties felt that a move would be the best thing, then I have no doubt there would be options for Stefan. He has a good reputation in Spain. But I don’t know if that is the situation. ‘It is too early. Everything will depend on what the club want to do and how the player feels.” (Daily Mail)

Bolton in for Guidetti
NEIL Lennon could be poised to make a summer move for John Guidetti, according to reports in the Netherlands. De Telegraaf is reporting that Bolton will offer a contract to the Swede ahead of this summer’s transfer window, with the striker unlikely to stay at Celtic and Feyenoord’s interest seemingly cooling. The 23-year-old hit 11 goals in his first 12 matches, but has netted just four times in 23 games since November. (De Telegraaf)

Swansea join race for van Dijk
SWANSEA have become the latest club linked with a summer move for Celtic stopper Virgil van Dijk. The Swans join Arsenal, Tottenham, Sunderland, Southampton, Sevilla, Hamburg and Newcastle - also linked with Jason Denayer - in expressing an interest in the Dutch defender. (Various)

Fridjonsson in dark over Celtic future
FORGOTTEN Celtic striker Holmbert Fridjonsson has called on Celtic to clarify his future - just over a year after signing a four-year deal at Parkhead. The Icelandic Under-21 international has been on loan at Brondby, with fellow Parkhead forward Teemu Pukki, but has been dogged by injury.
Fridjonsson - yet to make a first-team appearance for the Hoops - said: “There is not much talk at the moment and I don’t know if it’s because I have been injured.
“It’s a bit difficult because I do not know my future, and I wish that I knew if I should be here [Brondby], Celtic or elsewhere next season.
“I might return to Celtic, but I do not know for sure. I need to talk to the manager about it.
“It was Neil Lennon, who picked me up, and now there is a new manager who I have not spoken much with.” (Evening Times)
