Steht in meiner Liste sogar ĂŒber Russell.

    Was meint ihr dazu?

Ex-Celtic stars in battle for midfield starlet

Celtic boss Neil Lennon is set to rival his old teammate Paul Lambert in the scramble to sign Crewe Alexandra starlet Luke Murphy. Lennon and Lambert have both made personal scouting trips to watch the 23-year-old midfielder, who scored in Crewe’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory over Southend last month, in action this season.
Lambert was spotted sat next to Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood when Crewe beat MK Dons in March, leading to speculation that he was plotting another summer raid on the lower leagues.
But Newcastle, QPR and Sunderland are all also said to be interested while Celtic boss Lennon, a former Crewe player, has also taken a great interest in Murphy. The Hoops boss tweeted his appreciation of Murphy’s goal at Wembley as he watched the game on TV at home and was then spotted at the Alexandra Stadium last week – his first opportunity to watch the player in action.
The Crewe captain recently admitted he felt he was ready to play at a higher level and the Cheshire club are hoping to net over ÂŁ2.5million for his transfer in the summer.

    Das neueste zu Johnny Russell:

Dundee United have rejected an offer from Serie A club Catania for striker Johnny Russell.
The Italian club, currently ninth in Serie A, have made two offers to United within the past three weeks. Their latest bid of about 600,000 Euros (approximately ÂŁ515,000) was rejected by the Tannadice board as it did not match their valuation of the player.
Celtic are understood to be monitoring the 23-year-old Scot's situation closely.
Russell has a year left on his current contract and United hope to persuade him to extend his stay at Tannadice. However, they are likely to accept an offer which meets their valuation this summer if it seems that the player is unlikely to accept a new deal.
Russell, who has also been watched by a host of English clubs this season, is currently out of action with a broken fibula.

No big Celtic signings, but Lennon may spend ÂŁ4m

NEIL Lennon hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Celtic spending up to £4 million on one player this summer. However, the Celtic manager gave a flat “no” when asked the other day whether such a recruit could be a marquee signing.

What personnel changes could Celtic make for the 2013/14 campaign?

Fresh from clinching their second successive Scottish Premier League title, eyes are already turning to what could be a busy summer for Celtic.
With Champions League qualifiers eating in to the club’s summer break, there will be plenty of activity on and off the park.
In an interview with the Scottish Sun, Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell reiterated the club’s transfer policy just as he had when speaking to STV last month.
Lawwell has said the club will continue to seek value in the market, preferring to identify the next Gary Hooper or Victor Wanyama than pay over the odds for marquee signings.
Having reached the last 16 of the Champions League this term, Neil Lennon will be aiming to build a squad to compete at home and abroad once again.
We take a look at who may arrive and depart Parkhead this summer.

    Potential arrivals

    Kevin Doyle
    Age: 29 Position: Striker

The Irish international was a January transfer target for Neil Lennon’s men and remains on their radar.
He has scored 11 goals in 45 appearances for club and country this term as Wolves battle against relegation from the Championship.
Doyle still has two years on his contract at Molineux but admitted he was tempted by a move to Scotland earlier this season.

    Johnny Russell

    Age: 23 Position: Forward

A long-term target, the Dundee United striker is expected to depart Tannadice this summer.
The 23-year-old has already been the subject of two bids from Serie A side Catania.
This week the Terrors hit out at the player’s agent, insisting they wouldn’t be told how to run their football club. They have previously put a £2m valuation on the attacker who has scored 20 goals in 35 appearances.
Currently out of action with a fractured fibula, could this be the summer where Russell makes the move?

    George Boyd
    Age: 27 Position: Forward

After winning his first full international cap for Scotland against Serbia last month, the 27-year-old has attracted the attention of several clubs.
Currently on loan at Hull City from Peterborough United, Boyd can play in midfield or in attack.
A January move to Nottingham Forest collapsed after he failed an eye test allowing the player to help Hull’s charge towards the Premier League.
He has scored 11 goals in 45 club appearances this term.

    Aleksandar Tonev
    Age: 23 Position: Winger

Bulgarian winger Aleksandar Tonev was first linked with a move to Celtic at the end of March.
The 23-year-old plays for Lech Poznan in Poland and is valued in the region of ÂŁ3m.
With James Forrest the club’s only recognised out and out winger, Tonev could prove to be a useful option on the left side.
Last week he was quoted in the Daily Record saying: “It’s an honour to know that Celtic are interested in me.”

    Potential departures

    Victor Wanyama

    Age: 21 Position: Midfield

The Kenyan midfielder has been a revelation since joining from Germinal Beerschot in Belgium in 2011.
His displays against Barcelona in the Champions League led manager Neil Lennon to proclaim the 21-year-old was worth ÂŁ25m.
Blogger Tic Tac Tic explained how Wanyama’s role in the team has evolved over the past two seasons.
Linked with moves to the English Premier League in January, few would be surprised to see the African move on.

    Gary Hooper
    Age: 25 Position: Striker

Celtic’s board received praise for keeping hold of Hooper in the January transfer window despite several bids from Norwich City.
Neil Lennon says he still hopes to keep hold of the forward for next term despite reaching an impasse over a new contract.
Hooper has scored 27 goals in 47 appearances and is the highest scoring Englishman in this season’s Champions League.
The player himself has remained tight lipped over his future but he may feel the time is right to return south to boost his international prospects.

    Paddy McCourt
    Age: 29 Position: Midfield

Nicknamed ‘the Derry Pele’ by fans, the Northern Irishman is out of contract at the end of the season.
He has found first-team opportunities increasingly limited this season, making just 16 appearances this term, with 13 of those coming from the bench.
McCourt joined the Hoops in 2008, making five appearances in his debut season.

    Thomas Rogne
    Age: 22 Position: Defender

Another player out of contract in the summer, Rogne rejected the offer of a new deal in February.
The 22-year-old has made 18 appearances for the club this season with the last of those coming in the 3-2 defeat to Ross County at the start of March.
Rogne is set to play for Norway at this summer’s European Under-21 Championships and earlier this week he said he was in no rush to extend his stay in Glasgow.

Norwich to make fifth bid for Gary Hooper
Norwich City will make a ÂŁ4 million bid for Celtic striker Gary Hooper. According to The Sun, the expected offer will be ÂŁ3.1 million less than Norwich offered for the former Scunthorpe United striker in January amid fears that the Premiership side will be relegated. The Canaries had made four bids for Hooper in January, but are now scaling back their pursuit of Hooper, who is also being monitored by Stoke and Everton. (The Sun)

Celtic target Fiorentina playmaker Adem Ljajic

Serbian midfielder Adem Ljajic, who has refused to sign a new contract at Serie A side Fiorentina, is on Neil Lennon’s radar. Celtic are preparing to bid for the 21-year-old, who was once a target for Manchester United. Fiorentina are thought to be willing to let the Serbian international go in the summer rather than see him leave for nothing next year. {Daily Express)

Liverpool lead pack for ÂŁ25 million ace

Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking more than a little pleased with themselves as it is claimed by Sporting Preview that they are leading the pack for midfielder Victor Wanyama.

The Celtic player is valued at around £25 million and has certainly impressed this season – so much so that a host of clubs are considering making a move for the youngster. It had been thought that one more season in the SPL could be beneficial to the star yet now it seems that a move is on the cards and Liverpool are set to pounce.

Brendan Rodgers is pleased with his first season at the club and despite the summer worry over the future of Luis Suarez is still hoping to build on what he has achieved thus far and sees young talented players like Wanyama as the way to do this. Rodgers is well aware that he will face tough competition to land the player however given that not only are Southampton interested but Arsenal have also been heavily linked with a bid for the Kenyan international.
