Mit angeschlagenen Spielern wie Hooper, Ledley und auch Brown wird es eben nicht einfach um in Lissabon zu bestehen. Das waren fĂŒr mich 3 AusfĂ€lle gestern und das kann man sich in der CL eben nicht erlauben. Dennoch bin ich alles andere als unzufrieden mit unserer Mannschaft, warum auch ? Gestern war eben nicht unser Abend, was wir aber bisher in der CL gespielt haben, kann sich durchaus sehen lassen. Mein Spezi Lubo und ich haben lange gerĂ€tselt, gehen wir zum Spiel Celtic gegen Barca oder hoffen auf ein Endspiel gegen Spartak um den 3. Gruppenplatz. Wir spielen zwar gegen Spartak, aber im Fernduell mit Benfica um den 2. Platz, wer hĂ€tte das nach der Auslosung erwartet ? Wir hĂ€tten alle sofort den 3. Platz unterschrieben, was bedeutet, daß wir im Februar sicher weiter in der EL spielen werden. Wir spielen wie gesagt gegen Spartak und Benfica in Barcelona. Da sehe ich die etwas grösseren Chancen eher bei uns. Wenn wir Spartak schlagen, Benfica allerdings auch in Barcelona gewinnt, sollte es eben nichts werden mit dem 2. Platz. Vielleicht reicht uns ja auch ein Remis, wenn Benfica verliert. Alles ist möglich und sollte es nichts werden mit dem CL Achtelfinale, dann bin ich kein bisschen traurig. Dann rocken wir eben in der EL weiter. Ein geiler Abend wird der 5. Dezenber allemal, der CP wird beben und mit einem Ohr ist man in Barcelona mit dabei. Was schöneres kann es als Fan ĂŒberhaupt nicht geben.

Ich bin auch nicht enttÀuscht. Insgesamt ist es eine verdiente Niederlage. Benfica musste gewinnen und das hat man gesehen. Wir sind nun Punktgleich mit Benfica und spielen daheim gegen Spartak. Benfica muss nach Barcelona. Ich denke Barca wird nicht mit der ersten Elf auflaufen, aber gerade die jungen Spieler sind bei denen nicht nur gut sondern auch richtig hungrig. Wer will nicht mal ein CL Abend mit Barca verbingen als junger Spieler?
Wir werden weiterkommen. Davon bin ich ĂŒberzeugt. Wir werden das Ding gewinnen mit 1-0 und Barca spielt 1-1

Ich denke, Barca lÀsst uns nicht im Stich, mit denen sind wir ja schon irgendwie freundschaftlich verbunden (siehe Aussagen Pique nachm Spiel).

Daheim gegen Spartak wird natĂŒrlich verdammt schwer. Russischen Mannschaften ist es eigentlich egal, ob es um was geht oder nicht, die wollen einfach nur spielen. Kann mich da an ein Spiel bei der WM 94 erinnern, als Russland schon draußen war und dann im letzten Gruppenspiel 4:0 oder so gewonnen hat.

Wanyamas Ausfall ist ein herber Schlag. mMn in beiden Spielen gegen Barca der beste Mann aufm Platz. Und das will was heißen, wenn man sich anschaut, wer bei Barca aufgelaufen ist. Ich hoffe, Kayal kann nur annĂ€hernd soviele ZweikĂ€mpfe gewinnen wie er.

Trotz allem hĂ€tten wir mit Forrest - Ledley - Kayal - Commons immernoch ein gutes Mittelfeld. In diesem Spiel wĂ€re in Ki natĂŒrlich Gold wert. Aber wer konnte das wissen...

Das ist natĂŒrlich nicht so optimal. Die Spieler werden sich bei ihrem neuen Chef empfehlen wollen. Aber wie gesagt, was russische Teams angeht, sind einfach keine Prognosen möglich.

Aiden McGeady is a major doubt for Wednesday’s Celtic-Spartak Moscow Champions League clash.
The Irish international played for 24 minutes of Friday’s 4-2 defeat from Zenit St Petersburg after a two month lay-off.
According to Spartak doctor Michael Vartapetova McGeady has suffered a reaction in his calf muscles with his place on Wednesday questionable.
McGeady left Celtic just over two years ago and has mixed emotions about returning to the ground where he made his name in the game.
“I’m really looking forward to this game,” he admitted after the defeat from Zenit. “I hope the Celtic fans will give me a good reception, but I’m not sure they will.
“Despite everything that has happened, I hope we can still win in Glasgow. I was delighted to be playing after a long spell out injured, but the team was upset to lose to Zenit.
“The new coach, Valery Karpin, kept everything the same, really. He didn’t change much.
“Our main hope is that the supporters don’t desert us. We need them more than ever now.”
Georgian international midfielder Jano Ananidze who played against Zenit will miss the trip to Glasgow due to a knee injury.
Celtic will be without the suspended Victor Wanyama but are likely to have Scott Brown in the starting XI.
The Celtic skipper is due to have surgery on a long standing hip injury but has delayed going under the knife due to Celtic’s Champions League commitments.

Get to Paradise early for Spartak game

CELTIC take on Spartak Moscow in their final group-stage game of this season’s UEFA Champions League this Wednesday night (KO: 7.45pm).

Neil Lennon’s side will be aiming for a victory over the Russians, and hoping that will be enough to see them progress to the last 16 of the competition. That will also depend on how Benfica do against Barcelona.

Celtic Park is set to host another special European night and supporters are urged to get along to Paradise early and enjoy the atmosphere building up for what will hopefully be a night of celebration.

The stadium is open from 6.15pm and fans are reminded that, with a capacity crowd and with the ongoing road closure to a section of London Road, it’s advisable to give yourself extra travelling time to get to the ground because of the increased volume of traffic on matchday.




Um 15.45 Uhr landen wir in Edinburg. Sollte also bis 18.15 Uhr locker reichen, bis wir ins Stadion rein kommen.

FC Barcelona’s vice-president Carles Vilarrubí has revealed that Celtic are his second team.



It could be a significant endorsement for the Scottish champions ahead of the final round of Champions League group games on Wednesday evening.

Barca have already qualified for the last-16 as Group G winners. If they beat second-placed Benfica at the Nou Camp, Celtic will only need a draw against Spartak Moscow to join them.

VilarrubĂ­, who visited the city with Barcelona last month, said he had been won over by the Celtic fans and the welcome at Parkhead.

“I have got a friendly, good perception of Glasgow Celtic, now they are my second team. I have got a sympathetic relation with the club, with the history of that club. I will be very happy if Glasgow Celtic goes to the second round.”

History is a source of pride and inspiration for both clubs, but in Catalonia the politics of the terraces are also helping to shape the future of the area.

Barcelona’s then president, NarcĂ­s de Carreras, proclaimed the slogan "Barça, mĂ©s que un club" in a speech in January 1968. The famous motto asserts that it is more than a football club.

Vilarrubí said: “Barcelona is the flagship, the representation of the whole of Catalonia. “In some way, as well as being a football club, Barca is a way to express the will for freedom and our pride in being Catalans in front of the world.”

Football has been sewn into the fabric of political debate in Spain since the Civil War in the 1930s. Barca’s left-leaning president Josep Sunyol was executed by fascists in the first month of the conflict.

General Francisco Franco’s dictatorship banned Catalonia’s national symbols and suppressed its language and culture. Even the team’s name was changed from “Futbol Club Barcelona” to the Spanish “Club de FĂștbol Barcelona”.

VilarrubĂ­ says Barca became a symbol of democracy because the stadium was the only place where people could gather to express their views and speak their own language.

“Barca is not a player in politics on a daily basis, but it is a place in which the people can be free every Sunday during the game. The DNA of Barca is the DNA of the country.”

Like Scotland, Catalonia has a strong nationalist movement and recent elections were dominated by the question of independence from Spain.

During October’s ‘clasico’ against bitter rivals Real Madrid the cry of “In – Inde –Independùncia” echoed around the Nou Camp before and during the game.

A mosaic of 98,000 red and yellow cardboard posters turned the stadium into a giant Catalan flag and television sent the images around the world to an audience of millions.

Vilarrubí says he personally supports a referendum, even if it means the club has to leave the Spanish league, adding: “Barca is a global phenomenon and we will play on a global basis. I don't know which league we will play in, in the future, but we will be with the top clubs playing in the world.”

He added: “We will be playing for sure with PSG, with Milan, with Bayern Munich, with Real Madrid of course and Manchester City. We will be in the top league, I don't know which one of them.”

Whatever the future holds for Catalonia, the club is looking beyond Spanish football as part of the sport’s global elite.

Celtic hold similar ambitions, but they still have to earn their place at the top table.

Neil Lennon’s talented young team got the whole of Europe talking with their 2-1 victory over Tito Vilanova’s men at Parkhead.

That triumph has given them a fantastic chance of qualifying for the next round of the Champions League. But even if they beat Spartak Moscow they will still need a helping hand from the Nou Camp.

So, on Wednesday night the Parkhead support will be cheering on both Celtic and Barca.

wenn es am ende trotz sieg nicht reichen sollte (wo von ich aber nicht ausgehe) haben wir alle mögliche getan was in unserer macht stand.
ich hoffe das wir mit zwei stĂŒrmer spielen oder zumindest mit einem stĂŒrmer und einer hĂ€ngenden spitze, da ich die abwehr von moskau als nicht wirklich gut ansehe.
freue mich schon tierisch auf das spiel morgen.
