Celtic assistant manager Alan Thompson has hinted he would like Kris Commons to withdraw from the Scotland squad for Wednesday's friendly.
The former Derby winger picked up a foot knock while playing for Hoops against Aberdeen this weekend in the Scottish Premier League.
Despite this, he still turned up for international duty at the team's hotel on the outskirts of Glasgow.
His commitment to the cause and attitude will no doubt have impressed manager Craig Levein, but Thompson feels it would be unwise for Commons to be risked in a non-competitive game.
"I think the important word is friendly," said Thompson.
"Had it been a qualifier for Scotland then it puts a different slant on it. But with it being a friendly, we would much prefer him to be rested and try and get him right for the weekend, which will be touch and go, I would think."
