Reo can't wait to experience Celtic Park and work under Ange Postecoglou

He may have just arrived in Glasgow after signing a four-and-a-half year contract from J-League side Kawasaki Frontale, but new signing Reo Hatate is raring to get started and experience life at Celtic Park. At just 24-years-old, Reo touched down as a Celtic player after being named in the Japanese league’s Best XI for the 2021 season and is fresh from winning back-to-back league titles with Kawasaki. The midfielder knows all about Ange Postecoglou from the manager’s time in Japan and he’s excited about working under the Australian, as well as getting the chance to play alongside the rest of Celtic’s Japanese contingent, Daizen Maede, Yosuke Ideguchi and Kyogo Furuhashi.
The new Celt said: “I am extremely honoured to finally be able to wear this historical uniform. I’ve only been able to see Celtic Park on videos and pictures, so I’m really excited to finally be able to experience this great stadium and I’m extremely looking forward to meeting the fans and playing in front of them. As a Japanese, it’s really exciting to see a manager who has experience in Japan and in the international stage. In Japan, I have always played against his teams but I’ve always observed and thought his way of playing is very strategical and attacking, so it’s extremely fun for the audience.”
Having played in a number of positions for Kawasaki Frontale, Reo believes his versatility has helped his development, but he can’t wait to show the Celtic supporters exactly what he can offer.
“Being able to play in different positions has given me confidence as a footballer,” he said. “With this team, I want to be able to bring out the best in my style of play and contribute to the attacking side of things a bit more. I hope to be the best version of myself so I can contribute towards Celtic and I want the fans to see how I play and to know my style as soon as possible. I will do my best in training and in the games and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Who is Celtic new Bhoy Reo Hatate
Versatility is the one word that crops up the most when discussing Hatate, with the left-sided player able to perform adeptly at either full-back or in midfield. Joining from J-League champions Kawasaki Frontale on a four-and-half year deal, Hatate came into senior football straight from Juntendo University. Frontale’s faith was justified, as he helped the club to two consecutive J-League titles and the Japanese Super Cup. Capped all the way up to under-23 level with Japan and for the Olympic side, Hatate is nevertheless the only member of the new Celtic trio still awaiting his first full international cap.
Hatate has primarily been used as an attacking left-back by Frontale, an area that has proved something of a problem position for Celtic this season. After an early season injury to Greg Taylor, right-back Josip Juranovic was deployed there as well as the likes of Adam Montgomery and even Boli Bolingoli before Taylor’s recent return to the first-team. Postecoglou may have found his solution in the shape of Hatate, who chipped in with four goals for Frontale last term from the position.

A run of Man-of-the-Match performances by Reo Hatate last month were further rewarded when the Japanese playmaker was today (Friday) presented with the cinch Premiership Player of the Month award for February. The Hoops with Hatate went through the month on a winning run with three SPFL victories, Livingston (3-0), St Johnstone (4-1) and Aberdeen (4-0), as well as keeping that going outside of the games not under the auspices of the award – the home 5-1 win over St Mirren in the Scottish Cup and, of course, last weekend’s victorious 2-1 win over Rangers at Hampden in the League Cup final. MentalitĂ€t ist mit Sicherheit ein Aspekt, ein weiterer ist, könnte ich mir vorstellen, die sehr gesunde Lebensweise der (meisten) Japaner. Die werden im weltweiten Vergleich glaube ich mit am Ältesten, haben wenig Probleme mit Übergewichtigkeit und allen damit einhergehenden Volkskrankheiten, dort ist eine sehr gesunde und maßvolle ErnĂ€hrung verbreitet...alles Dinge, die auch der Fitness und Verletzungsprophylaxe zugute kommen dĂŒrften, und die in Schottland beispielsweise deutlich weniger verbreitet sind.

Their report states that he faces four weeks on the sidelines. As a result, this puts the midfield ace's involvement in the upcoming derby against Rangers into doubt.
