"Scottish Premiership - Kaka refuses wages after injury rules him out of Celtic clash
Milan have confirmed they will be without new signing Kaka for at least the next 10 days â but he could be out of action for a month.
The Diavolo have released a brief statement on their website which states the summer signing from Real Madrid has picked up a left adductor problem. He will be missing when Scottish champions Celtic visit the San Siro for their Champions League opener on Wednesday evening.
The Brazilian suffered the thigh strain in his second League debut for the Diavolo during the 2-2 draw with Torino on Saturday evening.
Kaka also revealed in a video statement that he has decided to suspend his pay from the club until he recovers.
"You have probably read about my injury," said Kaka. "Yesterday was a bad day for me because in all honesty I was not expecting an injury like this.
"I have spoken at length with the club, with Galliani and the doctors to decide on a few things and in the end I decided that I donât want anything from Milan except love and support until Iâm fully fit and ready to play.
"For this reason I have decided to suspend my current pay for this period of time, the only thing that I ask is the support and help to recover properly.
"I have already started my rehabilitation and I have to say your support and everything I have heard in the last couple of days really drives me on and makes me determined to come back as soon as possible."
Although the outfit have stated that the attacking midfielder will be examined again in about 10 days, it is being claimed elsewhere that he will be sidelined for at least four weeks with the issue.
Kaka could be thus available again for the game against Udinese on October 19 â three days before the Champions League tie against Barcelona.
Riccardo Montolivo and Andrea Poli also suffered injury setbacks at the weekend."
