Six of the best for rampant youths
DEFENDER Curtis Jones was the unlikely hat-trick hero as Celtic Under-19s thumped Inverness Caley Thistle 6-1 at Lennoxtown to go second in the league. The rampant youths had raced into a three-goal lead at the break thanks to strikes from Bahrudin Atajic, Tony Watt and Darnel Fisher.

Celtic’s u-19 side took control of the title race today with a 4-1 win over Kilmarnock while Hearts lost 3-1 away to St Johnstone.

Those results leave John Kennedy’s side trailing the Edinburgh club by four points but with two games in hand.

If Celtic can beat Motherwell on Tuesday it will bring the deficit down to a single point with five games left to play.

Celtic were never in any danger of dropping points as they faced upto Kilmarnock for the third time this season.

A trip on Tony Watt after 22 minutes presented Filip Twardzik with a penalty which he confidently slotted home.

Marcus Fraser saw a header hit the bar from a Callum McGregor corner before the Twardzik brothers combined in the 35th minute with Patrik slotting home from 15 yards out to double Celtic’s advantage.

John Herron was next to strike the woodwork with a 20 yard effort coming back off the crossbar just before half time.

On the hour mark Liam Gormley and Paul George replaced Watt and Herron with the former Motherwell striker finding the net from a Callum McGregor cut back in the 75th minute.

Killie did pull a goal back with ten minutes left to play but McGregor restored Celtic’s three goal advantage in the dying minutes when he slotted home the rebound from a Denny Johnstone shot.

    Celtic Under-19s are Champions

CELTIC Under-19s have been confirmed league champions for the third year running after Hearts failed to beat Hibernian today (Saturday).

The Tynecastle side were beaten 2-0 by their Edinburgh rivals in their final game of the season, leaving the young Hoops one point clear at the top of the table with three games in hand.

It’s a magnificent achievement for the youths who have won their last eight matches to catapult them to the league summit.

And it means they go into tomorrow’s SFA Youth Cup semi-final with St Mirren safe in the knowledge that they have secured the Championship.

Stylish Celts now set for Glasgow Cup final
CELTIC Under-17s had a resounding 4-1 win away to Queen’s Park on Monday night to round off their group fixtures in the Glasgow Cup. The victory means the young Hoops topped the section.
After going a goal down against the run of play, Celtic dominated the game. Goals from Paul McLellan, Denny Johnstone, Jamie Lyndsay and Lewis Kidd capped off an excellent performance and display of attacking and creative football.
Celtic can now look forward to the Glasgow Cup final and the opportunity to retain the trophy they won last season (pictured above).
They face Rangers at Ibrox on Monday, April 16 (KO: 7pm). Cash turnstiles will be in operation on the night and Celtic supporters will be allocated seats in the Broomloan front with prices set at ÂŁ5 for adults and ÂŁ2 for kids.
So get along and cheer on the young Hoops as they bid to keep green and white ribbons on the Glasgow Cup.

Schöne Sache! :celt3 Und auch aus der U-17 kommen mit Spielern wie Denny Johnstone oder Lewis Kidd wieder richtig vielversprechende Talente nach...

Celtic U15s' Nike Cup triumph against top English youth sides
CELTIC Under-15s have won the prestigious Nike Cup youth tournament, beating Chelsea in a tense penalty shoot-out in the final. The game finished goal-less but the Hoops held their nerve and lifted the trophy.
It´s a tremendous achievement for the young Celts, who came out on top against the best youth teams in England. The 24-team tournament was held at Warwick University, Coventry, with most of the teams being drawn from the Enlgish Premier League.
