Adam Idah: I’m excited to be at Celtic and can’t wait to play in front of our fans
Adam Idah is delighted to have joined Celtic, and is looking forward to pulling on the green and white Hoops and playing his part with Brendan Rodgers’ side. The 22-year-old has moved to the Scottish champions from Norwich City on loan until the end of the season. The forward, who has been capped 22 times for the Republic of Ireland, has already spoken to a couple of his international team-mates about moving to Paradise, and now that he’s here, he can’t wait to get started.
Speaking to Celtic TV, Adam Idah said: “It’s such a huge club with such a big history behind it and I can’t even put into words what it’s like to be at Celtic. My family and my friends are all delighted that I’m here and I just can’t wait to get started. All of us back home support Celtic so it’s huge for me and I’m so excited to be here. I want to play games, I want to help this team and the aim for me is to win those two trophies and I want to score a lot of goals for this club. I’ve got a lot of experience in first-team football. I’ve been in the first-team now since I’ve been 17 or 18, so it’s not new to me. But coming here, it’s exciting with the fans here it’s going to be really good and I just can’t wait to play in front of them.”
The Irish forward talked to Liam Scales and Mikey Johnston and, not surprisingly, they both told him that Paradise is the place for him.
“I’ve spoken to both of them and they spoke massively about the club and how great it is, the fans and the city, so they helped me make my mind up as well,” he said. “I’m quite close to Paddy Roberts and he brought me up to Glasgow quite a few times. The city’s lovely and I love being up here. I also spoke to Brendan and we had an exciting talk. Being such a big manager, it will benefit me a lot. I’m quite quick and strong, and I think that’s the strengths to my game, getting in behind and trying to hold the ball up and link up the play. I’m anxious to get out there and play. I want to score goals for this club and I want to get playing as soon as possible.”
