Versatility is the one word that crops up the most when discussing Hatate, with the left-sided player able to perform adeptly at either full-back or in midfield. Joining from J-League champions Kawasaki Frontale on a four-and-half year deal, Hatate came into senior football straight from Juntendo University. Frontale’s faith was justified, as he helped the club to two consecutive J-League titles and the Japanese Super Cup. Capped all the way up to under-23 level with Japan and for the Olympic side, Hatate is nevertheless the only member of the new Celtic trio still awaiting his first full international cap.
Hatate has primarily been used as an attacking left-back by Frontale, an area that has proved something of a problem position for Celtic this season. After an early season injury to Greg Taylor, right-back Josip Juranovic was deployed there as well as the likes of Adam Montgomery and even Boli Bolingoli before Taylor’s recent return to the first-team. Postecoglou may have found his solution in the shape of Hatate, who chipped in with four goals for Frontale last term from the position.

Und in bewegten Bildern (This is Why Celtic Wants To Sign Reo Hatate) stechen vor allem Handlungsschnelligkeit, Beweglichkeit, gute Technik und kreatives Passspiel ins Auge, was ja auch ziemlich gute Voraussetzungen für gerade diesen Bereich wären. Aber seine große Flexibilität was unterschiedliche Positionen sowohl im Mittelfeld als auch auf den Außenbahnen angeht ist sicherlich ein weiteres Plus dieser Verpflichtung.

Startelfdebüt, neuer Verein, neue Liga, neues Land, neue Sprache...und gleich mal ne MotM-Performance, kann man mal so machen.

Sein erstes Tor für uns gegen die Hearts (ab 1:07) war schon ein ziemlicher Knaller. Allein das Geräusch, wie der Ball im Netz einschlägt...

Er hat wohl noch nicht ganz die Luft für 90 Minuten, kein Wunder auch bei dem Laufpensum, dass er abreißt, aber er hat in seinen ersten Einsätzen schon einen großartigen Eindruck hinterlassen. Für £1.4 m Ablöse ein absoluter Top Transfer!

Mit Ausnahme von Idegucchi sind die Japaner bei uns echt zäh wie Leder.
Die haben kaum Ausfalltage.
Keine Ahnung, wie die das machen.
Auf jeden Fall haben sie eine starke Mentalität!

Mentalität ist mit Sicherheit ein Aspekt, ein weiterer ist, könnte ich mir vorstellen, die sehr gesunde Lebensweise der (meisten) Japaner. Die werden im weltweiten Vergleich glaube ich mit am Ältesten, haben wenig Probleme mit Übergewichtigkeit und allen damit einhergehenden Volkskrankheiten, dort ist eine sehr gesunde und maßvolle Ernährung verbreitet...alles Dinge, die auch der Fitness und Verletzungsprophylaxe zugute kommen dürften, und die in Schottland beispielsweise deutlich weniger verbreitet sind.

Ich weiß nicht was vorgefallen ist, aber Hatate ist wie ausgewechselt. Unfit, schlechte Vorbereitung, kann er vielleicht nicht mit Rodgers... Für mich ein ganz ganz herber Verlust, wenn er nicht an die letzte Saison anknüpfen kann...

Anscheinend ist das überhaupt nicht so, daß Hatate nicht verlängern möchte. Er ist zu Gesprächen wie auch Abada bereit.

Record Sport broke the story earlier this month that the champions were going to open talks with the Japanese star and Liel Abada. It has since emerged that Hatate has turned down their first offer. Celtic offered Hatate a significant wage rise but it well behind his fellow countrymen like Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda. Hatate’s problem is that both were both Japanese internationalists and arrived in Scotland on far bigger initial contracts. Hatate came in from Kawasaki Frontale in January 2021 on a lower wage although in his time under Ange Postecoglou he quickly became a key player.

Laut dem für gewöhnlich sehr gut informierten Stephen McGowan von der Daily Mail soll Hatate jetzt erstmal darum gebeten haben, die Verhandlungen bis zum Transferende zu unterbrechen. Warten wir mal ab.

CELTIC fans have been patiently waiting for the real Reo Hatate to show up this season. Finally, on Saturday, the level of performance they have come to recognise from the midfielder was again on display, and it was ultimately too much for Kilmarnock to handle.

Er ist wirklich schlecht in die Saison gekommen aber die Performance gegen Killie und auch seine Aussagen jetzt machen auf jeden Fall Hoffnung, dass wir den alten Hatate zurückbekommen werden.
