Jota provides Celtic injury boost as Hoops talisman back in full training ahead of Hibs clash
The Parkhead side tweeted a GIF of the star mixing with the rest of the group at Lennoxtown this morning with the words "The Portuguese winger is back training with the Bhoys!" The on-loan Benfica star had been sidelined with a hamstring problem sustained against Hearts at the start of last month.

There was a late Christmas present for Jota at Lennoxtown today (Thursday) as he was presented with the SPFL Player of the Month award for November – an accolade that would normally be handed out over the festive period. Of course, circumstances dictated that the presentation couldn’t go ahead as scheduled, but the fans’ favourite received the award today as part of a double boost this week after making an earlier-than-expected return to the team following injury when he took part in the 2-0 win over Hibernian earlier this week.
November was a busy month for Jota and Celtic, with the Portuguese winger scoring in both UEFA Europa League games against Ferencvaros and Bayer Leverkusen as well as helping his team-mates qualify for the League Cup final with a win over St Johnstone at Hampden. The award is all about the league, though, and Jota was instrumental in both of Celtic’s SPFL games played during the month. He scored an instinctive striker’s goal to open the scoring in the 4-2 win over Dundee at Dens Park and then added another with a sublime left-foot touch of the ball for Celtic’s third in the game. Then on a day of emotion at Celtic Park as the support celebrated the late, great Bertie Auld in a vital 2-1 win over Aberdeen, Jota opened the scoring again for the Hoops.
Five goals in five games in all competitions meant November was not a bad month for Jota, and he plans to have even better ones ahead.

Major update on Jota to Celtic transfer as Portuguese outlet details ‘huge turnaround’ development
CELTIC are closing in on a permanent deal for Jota, according to reports in Portugal. The winger has been a revelation for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season, chipping in with 13 goals and 14 assists. Hoops fans have been clamouring for months for the club to make it a permanent arrangement. It’s understood a fee in the region of £6.3m was agreed between Celtic and Benfica at the start of Jota’s loan spell. And now respected Portuguese newspaper A Bola claims the deal is all but complete – with the wide man desperate to run to Glasgow after such a successful first season. The report states that barring “a huge turnaround” the transfer should be concluded over the summer, with Jota said to now be away on holiday but expecting to “continue to shine” at Parkhead next season. The paper also says that Benfica have inserted a 30% sell on clause on any future transfer of the player.

Jota to sign four year Celtic deal 'soon' with Benfica transfer wait set to end
The deal to bring the Portuguese winger back to Parkhead on a permanent basis has been in the works for weeks. But fans have had to remain patient as they wait on an announcement. Now Portuguese outlet Record claim that 23-year-old Jota will sign a four-year contract with the Scottish Premiership champions. A fee of ÂŁ6.5million was part of the initial loan deal with Benfica, and the negotiations have been over personal terms.

Jota wins first cinch Goal of the Month award of the season
Jota has picked up the cinch Goal of the Month award for the first month of the season for his sensational strike from distance in the opening 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Celtic Park. The Celtic winger's 75th-minute goal wrapped up a 2-0 victory for the Champions and he has contributed another three goals in the cinch Premiership since then, including in last weekend's Glasgow derby victory. Jota tops creativity chart as Celtic teammate also pips Rangers star in key assist numbers
Research has shown Celtic star Jota is the most superior in that department across the Scottish Premiership. The 23-year-old has been a shining light since joining the Glasgow giants from Benfica in summer 2021 and instantly became a hit among the Hoops support with his flicks and tricks. He has contributed to eight goals this season, while netting nine himself.
Jota tops Betvictor's performance rating algorithm after amassing an average of 2.28 chances created per 90 minutes and 0.44 expected assists per game - giving him a 'creator score' of 9.9/10. Despite failing to hold down a regular starting place in Ange Postecoglou's starting XI, his Celtic teammate Liel Abada comes in out second having provided 2.14 opportunities per 90 minutes and a tally of 0.41 for expected assists – scoring him at 9.58.
The Parkhead duo are placed ahead of Rangers winger Ryan Kent, who scores nine. He has played more minutes than both Jota and Abada this campaign, which gives him 2.36 in terms of the chances he sets up and an average of 0.27 assists per game.

Jota: Portuguese winger leaves Celtic to join Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia
Jota has moved to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad from Celtic, the Scottish champions have confirmed. The Portuguese winger, 24, initially joined Celtic on loan from Benfica in 2021 before Celtic signed him on a five-year deal last summer. He contributed 28 goals and 26 assists in 83 games over two years in Glasgow and had been heavily linked with a ÂŁ25m move to Al-Ittihad in recent days. Jota scored Celtic's last goal in the 3-1 Scottish Cup final triumph over Inverness, ensuring the club completed a fifth domestic treble in seven years. The Portugal age grade international was a key member of Ange Postecoglou's side, picking up all but one of the six Scottish trophies on offer during his tenure. Jota averaged a goal or assist every 111 minutes, but follows manager Postecoglou and the retired Aaron Mooy in leaving Celtic this window.
