Petrov wären wohl nur zu uns gewechselt, wenn er bereits 25 Jahre alt wäre und noch 2 Jahre Fussball spielen möchte.

Ich hoffe auf Lawrence, er hat bewiesen, dass er mehr als ein Ersatz für Aiden in der irischen Nationalmannschaft ist. Absolut bester Ire in der letzten Saison. Würde uns auf alle Fälle weiterbringen.

Ansonsten lass´ ich überraschen, wer als nächstes aus dem Hut gezaubert wird.

Aston Villa set to offer Celtic £10m for Aiden

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is set to offer Celtic £10million for Aiden McGeady, according to reports in the press today.

The claim may not be true, of course, but it is increasingly looking as though this will be the week when the 24-year-old Ireland international's future is decided. Manchester City are expected to make a £25million offer for Villa's James Milner atny day and, while there is no "sell-to-buy" policy place at the Midlands club, such a large amount of cash coming in will give O'Neill a degree of freedom.

A cynic may suggest it looks like a deal has already been done. It is unlikely Neil Lennon would have admitted he sensed Aiden wanted to leave the club if he thought there was a chance he would stay, while Stiliyan Petrov's comments last week about what Aiden would bring to VIlla seemed a bit...odd.

While there is certainly an argument to be made for Aiden staying at the club - especially when there is no guarantee the £10million, or whatever the fee will be, will be reinvested wisely - it would not be the best of situations for Lennon to deal with, and the focus has to be on ensuring Celtic have a settle squad focused on doing battle both domestically and on the continent.

A quick look at Aston Villa fan websites shows their support is not entirely behind the idea of signing Aiden, but it's possible their judgement is clouded by the disappointment of Shaun Maloney's stay at Villa Park. There's no guarantee Aiden will be a success in the Premier League but there is no guarantee any player will be a success anywhere - and he has as good a chance as anybody.

Putting the £10million figure aside (or £8million, if that's what it proves to be ), it would be difficult to criticise Aiden for making the move, a move which really does appear to be a matter of when rather than if, as he has now reached the stage of his career when he may well want to chance his foot in England. Until something is done to strengthen the Scottish domestic competition (which will never happen), players will continue to be tempted by the lights down south.

Also wenn wir hier schon wünschdirwas spielen, dann will ich Raul haben, war immer ein genialer Spieler und ist ja wohl derzeit ablösefrei zu haben.

Und zu Bellamy: Ich fänds ja genial, aber ist ebenfalls äußerst unrealistisch. 6Millionen GP Ablöse sind ja nur ein Teil des Problems, das andere sind die über 90.000GP pro Woche Gehalt. Für uns einfach nicht zu machen mMn...

Lawrence wäre ein ganz guter Transfer, vor allem angesichts des sich abzeichnenden Abgang McGeadys...

PS: Von Wallace hab ich in dem Artikel allerdings nichts gelesen, obwohl wir den auch ganz gut gebrauchen könnten...

In den 3 Halbzeiten die ich in der Vorbereitung gesehehn habe, war er der beste Stürmer von uns. Und ob Murphy die Lösung auf die Frage ist im Sturm, neben einem ominösen Mr.X, das wage ich zu bezweifeln

Hooper almost a Hoop

CELTIC are moving closer to snapping up Scunthorpe United hotshot Gary Hooper.

Chief executive Peter Lawwell has baulked at the Championship side's £2million valuation.

With talks at an advanced stage he's hopeful of a compromise fee, including add-ons.

SunSport understands boss Neil Lennon is convinced Hooper can reproduce his blistering Irons form in the SPL and Europe.

Lennon tracked Hooper, 22, last season and wants him on board ahead of next week's Champions League qualifier against SC Braga.

He must register his squad with UEFA by midnight tomorrow for the two legs with the Portuguese side.

Hooper has netted 50 goals in 95 games for Scunthorpe over two years.

Meanwhile, Lennon's hopes of landing Arsenal and England legend Sol Campbell have been boosted.

Sunderland were rated favourites for the veteran defender but have now made a major bid for Wigan's Titus Bramble.

Newcastle have also now dropped out.

Campbell, 35, has been offered a two-year deal by Celtic on £35,000-a-week. He'll give his answer next week on his return from his honeymoon.

David James set for Celtic talks, Lennon keen

England international goalkeeper David James will speak to Celtic boss Neil Lennon about a joining the club, although the discussions are still at a very early stage.

Following the departure of Artur Boruc, there has been a debate as to whether Celtic will promote Lukasz Załuska or bring in a new goalkeeper. Initial speculation had centred on Crystal Palace's Julian Speroni but now the rumours regarding David James have a basis in reality.

The Daily Mail quoted Lennon as saying: "We are still a long way off and it's early days in terms of negotiation. But just the fact he is interested is very encouraging from our point of view. I want to get the best goalkeeper I possibly can.

"Not only for the league and Europe but also someone who can fill Artur's shoes - and he's one who can. He will come up and have a look and see if he fancies it. I'd like to speak to him myself and see what he is thinking, but the fact they have made the initial contact is very encouraging."

James is currently a free-agent after his contract with Portsmouth expired. He turns 40 next month, but the former Manchester City, West Ham United, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Watford goalkeeper has bags of experience and may still offer the sort of assured leadership at the back Celtic need.

Talks are expected to be held once Celtic return from the tour of America. James has reportedly already turned down a short-term contract offer from Sunderland and it remains to be seen whether his wage demands are considered realistic - which may depend on how much money is raised from the sale of Aiden McGeady, assuming it happens.

NE is kein reflex,mein gedanke dabei ist einfach nen Campbell für 2 jahre in die Abwehr stellen ok.
Aber wenn us um die TW position geht dann kann mann mMn Zaluska die chance geben,seit Zaluska gekommen ist war mir eigentlich klar das Artur uns zur neuen Saison verlässt und Lukasz ihn beerbt.
Wenn dann sollen se einen aus der Reserve als 3ten torwart hochholen.
Einen 40jährigen David James durchfüttern nein danke lieber das geld in ne gescheiten Striker investieren so meine meinung.
