Celtic manager Neil Lennon plays down Jorge Molina interest

Celtic boss Neil Lennon claims Jorge Molina is just one of several players he is having trouble in attracting. The 29-year-old Real Betis striker is the latest to be linked with a move to Glasgow before the transfer window closes on Tuesday. Ahead of Sunday's League Cup semi-final against Falkirk at Hampden, Lennon said no progress had been made regarding Molina. "I am no further down the line with any enquiries for players," said Lennon. Molina is under contract for another two years at Betis and doubts remain over whether he would be made available for sale, even if Lennon was interested in making a move for the player. However, Lennon took an optimistic view of his endeavours in the January transfer window and insisted if no further acquisitions are made, he would be content with the players he has.

"It's basically as you were," said Lennon. "If the window shuts and we go with the squad we have then fine. "You are always looking to strengthen if you can but at the moment it is looking very difficult. "We are not ruling anything out, but we are not ruling anything in either. "From my own experience of these transfer windows, anything can happen, it goes right up until 12 o'clock. "Until Wednesday morning, I won't have a definitive answer." Meanwhile, one striker already on the Celtic books, Mo Bangura, may need to have to have san operation to fix his on-going knee problem. Lennon said: "Bangura needs to see a specialist, hopefully next week and we will see if he requires surgery or not on his knee but we are hoping that will not be the case. "It has been very frustrating for him."

Brozek haben wir laut KDS wohl bis zum Ende der Saison ausgeliehen. Zudem haben wir uns eine Kaufoption gesichert.

Der muss sich auch beweisen, denn die Heim EM steht vor der Türe. Kostet uns zudem nicht viel und wenn er etwas taugt, können wir in für schlappe 650000 Euro kaufen. Super Ally wollte den ja angeblich neben Jelapish im Sturm sehen.

Pawel Brozek opted to sign on loan for Celtic ahead of Rangers

CELTIC last night added to Rangers’ transfer window woes by snatching striker Pawel Brozek from under their noses.
Gers had made the Pole their top target and boss Ally McCoist wanted to team him up with Nikica Jelavic.
But their hopes of landing the ÂŁ2million-rated Trabzonspor star on loan have now been dashed by bitter rivals Celtic.
The Hoops have agreed a deal to sign Brozek until the end of the season and also have the option of making the move permanent in the summer. The 28-year-old can’t wait to start his Celtic career and insisted the Parkhead club made him feel more wanted than Rangers.
Brozek told MailSport: “This is a great move and I can’t wait to get started.
“I have been told plenty about Celtic from my former team-mate Maciej Zurawski and Lukasz Zaluska.
“Lukasz will welcome me when I arrive. They have both made me aware of the club’s great history, the atmosphere inside the stadium and the passionate supporters.
“Celtic showed more determination than any other club to sign me and now I want to repay their faith.”
McCoist has been linked with a series of strikers since the transfer window opened but several players have now knocked back moves.
Losing out on another target must be a bitter blow but he tried to play down his disappointment last night.
Speaking after the 4-0 win over Hibs, the Gers gaffer said: “I was interested in the player but we never made a bid. It’s a disappointment but he is perfectly entitled to do what he wants.”
Star striker Jelavic missed yesterday’s win with a virus and McCoist revealed there have been no fresh bids for the Croatian international.
West Ham saw a reported £7m offer rejected last week and the Ibrox boss doesn’t know if anyone else will come in for Jelavic before the window closes on Tuesday night.
McCoist said: “There has been nothing new. I hope Nikica stays and I’ll be a happy man if he does but I understand the economic position of the club and I’m realistic.
“If he goes there is life beyond Nikica. This club will go on.
“He didn’t play today and we were good in attacking areas. We had some exceptional performances .We thoroughly deserved our win and it was a pleasing performance.”
