FĂĽr zwei Millionen bekommste leider keinen Kracher :wall:
Mit Rasmussen und Fortuné haben wir ja schon 2 gereifte Stürmer, unsere Jung-Stürmer sind ja bis auf Forrest (und evtl. Sheridan) enttäuschend.

Another day another rumour with Celtic left-back Lee Naylor in the sights of the rumour mill today. Of course it is a rumour but he can leave on a free transfer and plays in Scotland that’s enough to City boss Dave Jones’ hairs stand on the back of his neck. He left previous club Celtic by mutual consent but Cardiff will have to wait until the transfer embargo is lifted allow Cardiff can talk to players. Nottingham Forest are reported to be interested in bring Naylor back to the Championship.

Wenigstens eine Baustelle scheint nun endgĂĽltig geschlossen zu werden:

Neil Lennon to be new Celtic manager

    CELTIC MANAGER'S CONFERENCE
Venue: Celtic Park Date: Wednesday, 09 June Start: 1100 BST
Coverage: Live on BBC Sport website

Celtic will present Neil Lennon as their next manager during a media conference scheduled for 1100 BST at Celtic Park on Wednesday.

Stuart Baxter is expected to act in an advisory capacity, while retaining his head coach position with Finland.

Lennon, 38, has lined up former team-mates Johan Mjallby, Alan Thompson and Garry Parker for his backroom team.

The former captain took charge of the team after Tony Mowbray's sacking in March, enjoying a 100% league record.

Lennon, who had been reserve team coach at Celtic Park until Mowbray's departure, led the Glasgow giants to eight straight wins at the end of an otherwise disappointing Scottish Premier League season in which debt-hit Rangers retained the title despite having no funds to buy new players.

The only black mark against him was an embarrassing Scottish Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of First Division Ross County.

Signed by Martin O'Neill, Lennon arrived at Celtic as a hard-tackling midfielder in 2000, winning five championship titles in seven seasons.

He returned to the club in a coaching capacity in 2008 to assist then manager Gordon Strachan.

Following Strachan's exit and Mowbray's subsequent employment last summer, Lennon was kept on but was sidelined to a role with the under-19s.

Baxter's role has yet to be clarified but it is thought the Celtic board were anxious to have a more experienced man on hand to lend assistance to Lennon.

At a fans meeting convened by the Celtic Trust at Parkhead last month, Lennon said: "If I do get the job, maybe I would like an older head to bounce ideas off.

"It is a possibility if the outcome is positive."

Baxter is a 56-year-old English-born Scot who has spent most of his managerial career in Scandinavia, with spells in Portugal, Japan and South America.

Of Lennon's backroom team, former Sweden defender Mjallby is well-known to Celtic fans as he played over 140 times for the club after joining in 1998.

Likewise, Thompson was signed in 2000 by O'Neill, and stayed at Celtic until he switched to Leeds United seven years later.

Making up Lennon's trio of coaches, is his former Leicester City team-mate Parker.

The pair played in the Foxes' midfield in the late 1990s, and Parker had a spell as coach there, eventually leaving the club after one game as caretaker boss in 2001.

His appointment at Celtic will mark a return to football after an absence of nine years, during which time he has worked in the building trade.

Celtic appoint Neil Lennon as new manager
Jun 8 2010 by Keith Jackson

    Neil Lennon Image 2

NEIL LENNON has signed a contract to make him Celtic’s 16th manager.

Record Sport understands Lennon’s deal was finalised this morning and that the 38-year-old from Lurgan will be officially paraded at a press conference in the next 24 hours.

Lennon’s back-room team have also signed up with Johan Mjallby and another former Parkhead team mate Alan Thomson joining the new boss in his managerial set-up. Lennon’s one time Leicester team mate Garry Parker will also be introduced as fourth in command.

Celtic hope to announce that Finland boss Stuart Baxter will be recruited as a part time mentor for Lennon while he cuts his teeth in his first full season in the hotseat.

Lennon took over in the dugout on an interim basis in March after the sacking of Tony Mowbray.

In winning eight straight SPL matches with Mowbray’s under achievers Lennon did enough to convince chief executive Peter Lawwell and majority shareholder Dermot Desmond that he deserves a full time crack at winning back the SPL crown from rivals Rangers.

celtic appoint neil lennon as manager

    Mark Henderson
CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce Neil Lennon as the club’s new football manager.

Neil has served the club with distinction for the last decade, most notably as a player and club captain but also as a coach with the club’s first team and development squads.

Neil Lennon said: “Celtic is my home. I’ve spent the last 10 years of my working life here and I look forward to bringing back the success our great club deserves

“Whether as player, captain or manager, I’m a Celtic supporter first and foremost and no-one will work harder to put a winning team on the park.

“Over the past few weeks, I’ve had detailed discussions with senior figures at the club, including the Chairman, Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond, all of whom have been extremely supportive and I’m convinced that, working together, we have the foundations in place to put silverware back in the trophy cabinet at Celtic Park.”

Celtic Chairman John Reid said: “It is with great pleasure that I welcome Neil to the permanent position of Celtic manager. Neil has Celtic in his blood, he knows the club inside out and is someone who has all the qualities to achieve great things.

“The appointment of a manager is not a decision which any Celtic board can take lightly. Whilst some may have been calling for a quicker decision, we wanted the right decision.

“We have been thorough and professional and have made, I am very confident, a decision which will be proved to be a winning one.

“Not so long ago Celtic supporters were enjoying dominance in domestic football and real progress in Europe. I know we can regain this position and I assure our supporters that the Celtic board will be giving Neil our full backing to ensure that he can achieve this.”

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell added: “Understandably, there has been a great deal of speculation since the manager’s post became vacant and we’ve had enquiries from a host of candidates, but the single, overwhelming reason behind Neil’s appointment is that he is, above all, a winner.

“In Neil, I believe we have the man to put the club back at the very top of the Scottish game and a figure who will galvanise the players, the supporters and the club as a whole.

“We have consulted widely, including former managers, and their unanimous view matched ours - that we have one of the best and most capable young managers in the UK.

“Neil is someone who cares deeply for Celtic and someone who knows the club inside out – but more than that he knows what winning with Celtic is all about, with a record that speaks for itself.

“We’ve been working closely together in recent weeks to prioritise areas of the team which Neil wants to see strengthened and have already identified a number of targets we are now working hard to land. As ever, it will be a very busy summer!”

Und nachdem diese Personalie nun geklärt ist, darf gleich wieder fröhlich spekuliert werden...

Celtic exclusive ... new boss Neil Lennon lines up Premiership transfer swoop

Neil Lennon will be unveiled as Celtic’s new manager today and he plans to mark his appointment by luring a major English Premier League striker to Parkhead.

And the Irishman is also targeting a world-famous winger who has starred in the Bundesliga and La Liga as he attempts to build a side good enough to qualify for the Champions League this season and win the SPL title back from Old Firm rivals Rangers.

Lennon has already held discussions about the possibility of landing his two main signing targets but the deals could depend on whether or not majority shareholder Dermot Desmond is willing to bankroll the deals the way he did with Robbie Keane.
